NURTURING postnatal care

Congratulations on this incredible journey, you're about to embark upon – the journey of bringing new life into the world! I am happy you are  here. I hope we’re a great fit and I can support you through this transformative and beautiful experience. Becoming a parent is one of the most profound moments in a person's life, filled with love, excitement, and anticipation. It's also a time when you may have questions, apprehensions, and uncertainties. this is where I come in, I surge when it comes to providing families with unwavering support, compassion, and advocay.

What brought me here

This is me as a youngster. Doing what I do best.

Since forever, I have had a little person on my hip or by my side. I never asked or chased for it, it's what I was dealt. From being a special needs teacher, to nannying, being an auntie & godmother, doula-ing, and now as a therapist. Kids and famalies have always been at the heart of what I do.
Supporting mamas as a postpartum doula offered a new dimension for me to work in and it felt like a natural progression. In our Western Society the postpartum period is very much forgotten and brushed over. Passed down traditional teachings (although having a revival) have been long forgotten.  Leaving little education dedicated to families to help prepare them for how best to benefit from the fourth trimester.
My initial insights into postpartum time began as a teenager witnessing the birth of my oldest nephew, who is now 26 years old. He was born in my mother's living room, enveloped by the wisdom and nurturing presence of the women who preceded me. As the daughther of an inspiring Italian woman, my mama modelled postpartum approches from her history and emthasised the importance for my sister to have deep rest and love during this time.
This experience kindled my interest and a lifelong curisosity of holistic health and traditional approches for women throughout the diverse cyclical phases of our lives.
I believe a new mother (you) needs to be honoured, your physical act of birth requires space & time to heal after the incredible creation that you have made. The ripple effect filters through to baby and partners.
Every family is unique, and I recognise the importance of individualised care. I offer guidance, safety and no judgement. I believe in working alongside you, respecting your choices, and assisting you in making decisions that are right for you and your family.
I approach wellness and healing with lightness. However, I believe strongly in body autonomy, empowerment through choice. When we claim our voice, we can make choices in alignment with our truth, for the preservation of our health and well-being, not just in this moment, but for future generations.

After birth, there’s a sacred window of time. A time for complete rejuvenation of a woman’s physical, mental and spiritual health. A time for deep, extended bonding with her newborn. The first 42 days after birth set the stage for her next 42 years.

Vale looked after our daughter when she was just a few months old. Finding childcare for a young baby is daunting, but Vale immediately put us at ease. She is not only highly professional and competent but also exceptionally kind, warm, open and caring. We always felt very comfortable leaving our daughter in her care. We knew she was in safe hands, and that Vale was giving her the love and support that a newborn needs to thrive.

Valentina was always reliable and looked after our daughter to a very high standard, which was very important to us. My daughter had been struggling with feedind and sleeping but she thrived with Valentina support. Even more important than this, she was always happy. Valentina has a wonderful friendly and relaxed attitude along with the ability to always see the most positive in everything. That meant there was always joy in the house for our little daughter. For parents that is the most important thing you can need and not as easy to come by.

PRAISE

PRAISE

Vale came to help me and my husband with postnatal care for my daughter when my postpartum doula time had come to an end. I still felt like I needed support and Valentina was the perfect antidote. I was struggling with breastfeeding and Vale’s non-judgemental calm and supportive approach helped during the days when I felt wobbly. She was able to guide me to get specialised support and listened attentively to my woes, which she was not obliged to do!

She was an angel with my daughter and always asked if I wanted to be involved in feeding time which I found incredibly sensitive of her. I would watch Vale softly and lovingly tend to my daughter’s needs, this really meant a lot to me it was the 2nd lockdown and my family were so far away. Even though she was there for my daughter it was comforting that she had not only had newborn baby experience but also postpartum doula knowledge, it felt good to have an extra cushion during this sensitive time. I will never forget the support and time we spent together.
