How we work together

Counselling Sessions

support that lets you rebuild from the inside out.

A holistic counselling session gently supports the physical, emotional, and psychological shifts of your transition into motherhood. I offer a warm, compassionate space, free from judgment that combines the wisdom of the body with deep listening. One to one sessions are held in-person at your home or online, and are for mothers moving through a wide range of emotions. Perhaps you need a space to process your traumatic birth or you might feeling anxious about being a mother or you may be holding grief. every mother experience is unique as is why you find yourself here
I blend aspects of psychodynamic talking therapy with somatic tools to help your body feel safe again alongside my experience as a full-spectrum doula. This is not a clinical space. It is a holding space, a pause - where you can unravel, restore, and reconnect on your own terms. My work is informed by my training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, I currently support within the scope of my Counselling, Doula and Somatic Therapy trainings and education. Together, we create a space where you can:
  • Access somatic tools to calm your nervous system
  • Room to move intentionally, reconnect with more capacity and awareness of self
  • Experience the kind of deep listening that allows you to hear yourself more clearly
  • Feel held, witnessed, and less alone within a space where you can explore your experience safe
This is not for you if:
  • You are seeking formal psychotherapy or a diagnosed clinical treatment plan. (I can help you find the appropriate support if this is what you need.)
  • You are in immediate crisis or experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or your baby. (If this is you, please contact emergency services or a crisis line immediately: Accident & Emergency (A&E) department or call 999: If you need urgent support but don't want to go to A&E: Call Samaritans on freephone 116 123 – they're always open and are there to listen: you can also visit Mind's website for more information.
My rates are £80 per hour – I do offer a sliding scale for those on low incomes and experiencing financial instability, please reach out via email and let me know.
FYI - I provide sessions for mothers from the first few weeks of their postpartum, to years after. It is never too late to have space to talk about your experience. To learn, grow and heal.

MY PRACTICE

I am committed to anti-racist and inclusive practice, my intention is to hold spaces that are culturally sensitive and trauma informed.

Who am I
I'm Valentina, with ancestry roots from the lands of Cameroon and Italy, but I was raised in a small part of London with a big heart, called Brixton. Growing up in a multicultural landscape driven by a strong community spirit helped shaped my perception and values around care and the importance of embracing different backgrounds.
Over the span of two decades, I have dedicated myself to cultivating expertise and a strong passion for supporting families. My professional background in Education built a strong foundation of patience, curiosity. Which I now apply to provide holistic, personalised care that truly meets each family's needs.
This time was followed by period as a childcare provider during which I witnessed firsthand what postpartum looked like for many women in our society supported. It was my exposure to this which drew me to becoming a doula.
Why I care so much about postpartum
Often this period is forgotten and less attended to than pregnancy, I choose to focus on postpartum period for this reason. I had witnessed many mothers who were isolated and/or alone, undernourished and not receiving the detailed care or understanding that they so desperately needed.
The more I supported and talked to mothers, the more it became evident that containing spaces were needed for mothers to feel seen and heard. I hope to provide a space where mothers' inner worlds are tended to, and they feel truly seen and heard. Knowing that this supports their mental and relational health, both for themselves and for the next generation.
